The best healthcare starts with the best doctors. Dr. Fox has been recognized by D Magazine’s Best Doctor’s peer review as one of Dallas’ best in 2007,2008 and 2009. He is honored to be a part of this select group.

Bariatric Center of Excellence—COE

Medical City Dallas Hospital is recognized and has been designated as a Bariatric Center of Excellence (COE) by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. This designation requires the highest standards for quality performance and outcomes as well as producing the lowest complication rates.

Fellow, American College of Surgeons

The American College of Surgeons is a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.

Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as “Fellows.” The FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeons name means that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorus evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.

American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Fox is proud to be a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

The vision of the Society is to improve public health and well being by lessening the burden of the disease of obesity and related diseases throughout the world.

Founded in 1983, foremost American surgeons have formed the society’s leadership and have established an excellent organization with educational and support programs for surgeons and integrated health professionals. The purpose of the society is to advance the art and science of bariatric surgery by continued encouragement of its members to carry out the following mission:

  • To improve the care and treatment of people with obesity and related diseases.
  • To advance the science and understanding of metabolic surgery.
  • To foster communication between health professionals on obesity and related conditions.
  • To be the recognized authority and resource on metabolic and bariatric surgery.
  • To advocate for health care policy that ensures patient access to high quality prevention and treatment of obesity.
  • To be a highly valued specialty society that serves the educational and professional needs of our diverse membership
